Silly question but, when cooking tea what do you do with your mindees. Do you let them play outside and if so can you see them all the time?
i can as i have a big window on to the garden in my kitchen and my 15 year old often sits out there with them to make sure they don't go on the slide without me

I don't let them outside because I can't see them...
I often put baby in his playpen if I'm cooking serious stuff so he won't get bumped by the older ones.
I make sure they are set up with plenty of activity ideas and I often have teens around to keep an eye out, but they know little ones are totally my responsibility, they mustn't lift them up or carry them around and they shout for me at the first sign of a problem.
Hope this helps :D

I let my mindees out in the garden as I have a window that overlooks into my garden so I can see them while I cook, I don't have any large outdoor activities outside (swing/slide etc) that they could hurt themselves on, only a storage shed with no lock on that they get scooters, badmington rackets and balls etc out of, my garden has no ponds is all flat surface and mainly grassed. Is it best to just be outside with them then? or not let them outside while I'm doing tea?
My mindess are three of 5 and one of 8, However I never have them all together only two at a time and I have a daughter of nearly 7.

mine all go outside, I can't see them all the time but I look through the kitchen door which leads to the lounge and the patio fdoors all the time to make sure they are fine, I've not got a huge garden so I don't have a slide/swings etc so they are normally playing catch or on scooters etc :)

Thanks everyone I thought I was being mean when I say they can't play out when I am doing tea. Does anyone make meals fresh on the day or do you make batches of food and freeze it and then reheat it?

Mixture of both depending on the day.

Do you use the microwave to reheat food or hob?
I do a mixture of both too, and it really all depends on what the food it as to how I heat it up again :)
