Hi
Hope some of you remember i posted a thread about a month ago after my ofsted inspection saying i was gutted as i got 4 outstandings and 1 good, and all that let me down was the fact i work with my sister who is a childminder in her own rights just working from same address as me, so they said my policies should read we instead of i. Thats all the inspector could pick me up on and only 10 minutes earlier she sat in the chair and said no way was she picking that up as that was far to picky.
Anyway i e-mailed ofsted with my concern saying the inspector said she does not give outstandings on first inspections and was this the only reason i was given that recommendation and therefore getting good overall.
well just had another call from ofsted, they have looked into report and things still stand but they have changed organisation from an outstanding to a good!
i have now got to wait till my report comes through which should be early next week and see how it reads and let them know if im happy, as if i'm gonna be happy when they have down graded me, sorry for moan so upset and angry.
Hope all makes sense. x

I'd be upset & angry too!!!
   to ofsted - how can they just do that? Obviously the inspector who came to see you thought you were outstanding in that area!
Hope you get it sorted with them

Thats so unfair!   What is the point in having inspectors if Ofsted can just change the grade they have given? Hope you manage to sort things out!!! Good luck

so if they are then changing outstanding to good afterthe inspector had visited does that not reflect very badly on the inspector that visited you??? It's not very professional of the inspector to backtrack. :panic:  :panic:

Like Tatia says it seems like you're being punished for daring to question them.
I'd be soooo mad if it were me. As for saying they never give outstanding on a first inspection....surely they should be judging how well you meet the standards , not how many inspections you've had.

POor you!!! How can they do that??? Once the inspector has given you an outstanding surely it stays, why would they downgrade you??
It all seems so unfair I dont blame you for being angry and upset  I just hope you manage to get this sorted out and get a result thats fair and that your happy with
I dont really understand why they have done this, and i dont blame you for being upset!!
If i were you i would lodge a formal complaint!!!

That is so unfair!!
I didn't know that they could change their minds once they have left & already discussed with you the inspection & your grading!
:(

I agree.
Is this the inspectors way of getting back at you for complaining in the first place?
It's not right.
I am so angry for you.

I would take things further until it was sorted, You missed out on outstanding because of something minor (like puttting 'I' instead of 'We' )and then got your outstanding in another area taken away because you dared to question it! Push to the top, make sure you ask to speak to anyone whos everyone's top dog boss until they change it!...... Usually works!
Good Luck!

The same happened to me, i got told on inspection that i got 3 outstanding and 2 good, and an overall good, when my report came it stated 3 outstanding, 1 good and a satisfactory  but still an overall good.I felt a bit cheated but couldnt face a battle with Ofted to change it so let it be :panic:
It just shows how c:angry: p Oftsed are.

I can understand why you are saying that Kerry, but it's not you that's wrong, it's the system.
All you can do is wait for the report and decide what to do then.
I'm really sorry this has happened to you :(

Go in and complain hard and tell them that you are being victimised because you dared to question Ofsted. Tell them you will go all the way to the Independant Complaints thingy?( i need to google it) her name is Elizabeth Derrington.
Tell them you want it put back to the way it was.

I'm really sorry this has happened Kerry
I think Ofsted are covering their back by putting another outcome down to good - they can then say that even with the thing about the I/we in the policies you wouldn't have got outstanding anyway.
Wait and see what your report says and then decide what to do
