Does anyone know any songs or rhymes about pirates that does not involve rum or drunkenness? As I’m currently looking after a two year old who is obsessed with pirates and would like to introduce some pirate theme songs into our rhyme time.

When I waws 1, i'd just begun on the day I went to sea
I jumped about a pirate ship and the captain said to me
Im going this way, that way, forwards and backwards
Over the deep blue sea
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
Thats the life for me
When I was 2, I buckled my shoe on the day I went to sea
When I was 3, I saw a tree on the day I went to sea
When I was 4, I knocked on a door on the day I went to sea
When I was 5, I learnt to jive on the day I went to sea
There's also a little dance to it. I know it mentions 'rum' but the kids love the song x

We sing this song but instead of the rum we sing "a jar of honey to fill my tummy".

I agree! The world's gone mad. We grew up singing 'what shall we do with the drunken sailor' and didn't all turn out raging alcoholics!

Thats the one we do, but didn't put it down as it mentioned rum :D The kids all love it, even the older ones who thought up verses for 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10!! with actions to go with them!!!
