Hi all

I love doing Cross Stitch.
I'm into 1920/30's Art Deco Lady pictures but the kits are soooooooo expensive (anywhere from £30 -£80 each).
I always look on Ebay and different websites I find on the internet but they still work out expensive.
Where do you buy your kits from?
Do you use kits or do you buy the patterns and all the bits individualy?

This is the picture I have just finished for my Mum for Mothers Day.

Wow thats beautiful, I havent dont any for so long but got the urge the other day so when Im in town next Im going to look for a new kit. I prefer kits but they are expensive. However they do become family heirlooms so worth it i feel. :)

Thats stunning!

I've been cross stitching for almost 30 yrs now , and I tend to just buy kits from shops to be honest. Have bought from ebay before too

I'm working on a traditional sampler for my sisters wedding at the minute, I just know she will love it :clapping:

Haven't done anything for about 15 years but it is all in the roof for my retirement and having time :)

I did a xmas stocking for both of my children and they took 2 years each...

I looove cross stitch!

I get most of mine from Sew and So (http://www.sewandso.co.uk/)

I really like the Bothy Threads Cut Thru kits (http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran2125-0.html), I've done the pirate ship, the rocket ship, the princess castle and I'm just over halfway through the Noah's Ark one at the moment, but I haven't done much on it for ages. I've also done the Whispering (http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Departments/Cross-Stitch-Kits/Bothy-Threads/Fantasy.aspx) series as well

I'm also in the middle of this one (http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Animal-Alphabet__BOT-XAA1.aspx) for a friend's baby at the moment. It seems to be taking forever!

I have a ton of the little mouseloft kits too, and I never know what to do with them!

Does anyone else go through fits and starts of it? I tend to do loads for a while, and then none for a while, and then loads again!

would you like a sneaky tip to create a nice pattern on the aida without paying the costs ???

Find the size aida you want to use, find an image and print it off (you might have to change your printer settings to photo/high quality) ensuring the picture you are using is copyright free x

Go to Wilkinsons and purchase a pack of Light T-shirt Transfer Paper and following the directions use the transfer paper to iron the image onto the aida, and Taa Daa x
