Had my inspection today and i got OUTSTANDING IN ALL AREAS im soooooooo pleased, she was a lovely inspector and after dreading it all last week it turned out to be a very positive experience. She told me not to tell anyone my grade until i get my report but i couldnt wait that long:) :)

Mollymop you asked for some tips, heres some.......... She was very big on safeguarding and asked me what i would do in lots of different situations regarding this, inclusion and diversity were also a big thing.She loved that i never set the room up with toys and that the children self select, she loved my learning journeys that i write by hand and do on a monthly basis, i observe, do next steps and follow up the next steps she said this was more than enough i then track it all on the development sheets so that the dates match up with the observation, i dont do a report as such, she said what i do was fine its just a short summary every 4 months or so that is more of a"what i can do now" type thing. She was very big on the outside area and that the children were able to play outside whenever they wanted. One thing i will say which has been mentioned on here before is that you have to sell yourself, point things out because there is that much for the inspector to see that she will miss things if you don't point them out. I talked about the passion i have for working with children that i have had for as long as i can remember. I was very lucky, she was a lovely inspector who appreciated all the hard work i have put into my setting and she put me at ease the minute she arrived, this makes such a difference because i could be myself, i actually really enjoyed it and cried when she told me i was outstanding!!!!:)

Can I just ask if you are part of a network of childminders? I didnt get my outstanding on Friday because of this.
Im just curious as I feel it doesnt matter how many childminders i know it doesn't make me a better childminder
