oh I am sorry to hear that,, I must admit I panicked this morning as I read it as your child hasnt got in to their prefered choice when it actualy said IF your child hasnt got in to their prefered choice,,
I would apeal as it can't do any harm and in the appeal I would put that you would have to give up work to take her or move house which coudl also potentialy harm your buisness, but at the same time look in to other options,, is there anyway you can find out if another child is going to this school and your children could taxi share or at least catch the bus together

Appeal.

Dd did get her first choice but won't be taking it up (better offer elsewhere) so we'll be refusing the place (verystrange feeling!). So somebody who didn't get their first choice will, when they appeal get the place my dd is freeing up, IYSWIM. And as that's at a superselective then I guess that frees up one space all through a chain of schools. There will be plenty of people who, for whatever reason, will be refusing and your dd stands a chance of getting a place at the school of her choice if you apply. But not if you don't. Good luck! x
