Hi,
My 22 month old mindee, has very good speech, she speaks clearly and can say two words together. Today for the first time I notice that she was able to say three words together, for a few times over and over and the words started with 'I'. I wanted to put this in her journal as a look, listen and note moment but not sure what to put as a next step, as over time this will develop over time naturally, but obviously want to support her and help her develop more words together.
Any help gratefully received
Thanks Jo.:)

i would say that her next steps could be to support her to practice 3 words, model 4 word strings for her by extending what she is saying to you, and to teach her new vocabulary to use in her new word strings.

Next Steps could be -

Language for Commmunication -
"Learn new words very rapidly and are able to use them in communicating about matter which interest them." (22-36 months)

Or -

Language for communication -

"Use simple statements and questions often linked to gestures" (30-50 months)

You could just mention is as a 'wow' moment to share with parents... that wouldn't need next steps :D

I agree with Sarah. Remember not all observation have to have Next Steps.
