dyson or vax

Ok..my dyson has given up on me..its so old and has lasted many years. I badly now need a new one but cannot decide weather to stick to the dyson or try a vax ....have any of you had/got a vax or dyson...are there any you recommend or any to stay away from...my main requirement would be one thats lightweight....so am open to some suggestions please.

I've had both...... And just replaced the vax (which only lasted 1 year) with a Henry! I love my Henry!!!

I recently got a Vax and it broke within a year but it had a guarantee and they replaced it with a brand new one really easily and this one has been fine :)

I'm in the process of looking for a new vacuum cleaner too, ours has had it! It's a vax and has lasted us about 4.5 years. Never had any problems with it. Not bad considering it only cost us about £50 max. I'd love a dyson but they are out of my price range so going for another vax...still too much choice though and feels like my head might explode I've spent so much time researching!

Its Henry here, the only change im making will be to a Hetty very soon because DH needs his Henry back , 6 months later LOL.

I've had various cleaners and I wouldn't buy another Vax, too heavy and suction not great after a short while.

Henry is the best cleaner I've had...and the cheapest! And the children love him too! :clapping:

I had this debate with hubby 7 years ago after fancying a Dyson. So glad I didnt buy a Dyson or Vax.
MIELE has been brilliant. 7 years and still gong strong, as it's a German brand it's built to last just like VWs. No frills, but does a fab job. A friend has gone through 3 Dysons in the same time I've had mine. Its quite robust and apart from changing the head once, which is to be expected I have had no problems at all. If I ever need a new Hoover, it would be a MIELE.

Had 3 Dyson and 1 Vax. The Vax suction was awful for my daughters long hair and the Dysons got worse in design as they got newer models.

I now have a blue Henry (extra suction) and it is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. Was £75 in sale in Homebase so watch out for the bargains with bank hols coming up at Easter

It's Henry here. Not lightweight but he works better than any Vac I've ever had. Good price as well. We have the toy one too, which the children love.:)

Ihad a dyson for 6 years when it broke I had 2 vaxs in 3 years so gone back to dyson. :thumbsup:

Brilliant things and you can use them to clean your carpets!
My carpet is immaculate, the suction is great! sucks up pesky children on the first attempt lol x

I love my Dyson (DC33 Animal) and my VAX shampooer (DualV)

My mums Dyson is pants (lightweight one with a ball) and my old orange vax was rubbish too.

I don't think there is a particularly good brand as such but each brand may do a good vacuum...

I have had Dysons in the past and they have been good, even used one when I was a pub landlady and it made short work of the messy floor and it was in the days when smoking was still allowed.

When our Dyson broke we didnt have a lot of money so bought a Vax Cadence for about £50 and its going strong after a few years, would buy another again just for the price difference. I do find I have to regularly brush out the big filter, but usually do that when I empty it
