I'm busy doing my planning and am working around the theme of food and want to do a food around the world week. Does anyone have any good ideas or can ppoint me in the direction of a good website?

Thanks heaps.

a group of us childminders got together with all the mindees and went to the chinese restaraunt in town, we spoke to the owners before hand and explained what we were doing, they actually opened up after closing for lunch especially for us, they did all the children a little plate each with some rice, noodles, prawn toast, prawn crackers and seaweed on, they all had their own chopsticks too :D was a fab afternoon:)

Melanie if you Google "FOOD AROUND THE WORLD "then press "IMAGES" you will get lots of pictures .Not sure if that's what you are looking for?

Thank you.

Hadn't thought of googling for images - will give it a go.

Will also have to see if my cm friend and her mindees fancy a trip to the Chinese - I so love that idea.

Have decided to visit Peterborough as I guess its great for Asian shops and food stores. It also has a great Chinese supermarket too.

I can give you the recipe for some American classics, if you are interested.:D My mindees love hotcakes with maple syrup, pumpkin pie and biscuits and gravy. Oh and peanut butter cookies, too!

I'm doing some coursework and planning at the moment but will post the recipes in the next few days. I promised Angel pumpkin pie one a while ago and forgot!

The nursery/reception and infants from the school went to an Indian restaurant too.
You could have a word around and try some different ones:D
I did this once and just did home made from the supermarket cos I didn't have such great ideas:blush: .
Making pizza from scratch is great fun.
