We have a fountain in the middle of our garden and I was wondering whether this would be a prob for using the garden whilst childminding? The garden is quite large and children and my son at the moment are able to play in different areas not directly next to it
Any thoughts or experiences in this area will be gratefully recieved :)

It would imagine you would have to risk assess and show how you can keep it safe. Not really sure. Someone else may know more.

Hmm it's hard to know without seeing it.

Ponds have to be fenced off but not sure about fountains

Ofsted do not like standing water - 2" can kill.... so it will need to be either fenced off or removed I would imagine.

You will find out more at your pre-reg :D

i have a pond in my garden its fairly deep and its has a water fall cascading into it . mine is not fenced off but is covered with a net ( not any kind of net its a rebound safety net they use them on school ponds ) i have had to cover the water fall bit as well . my inspecter was more than pleased at the safety of this and was happy to see the children feeding the fish .i also have a pond policy about how it is safe x
