Hello,

We have a touring caravan.

I decided that we should go to South Wales for our annual holiday.

I looked on google earth and looked near cardiff.

I told ds(10) who is a biiiiig Dr Who fan and we both got excited.

But, I cant find any decent campsites!!

It doesnt help that we are quite choosey - and there seems to be a lack of them in this area! (new career anyone!)

I have found one in a village(?) called Llantwit Major. It looks nice.

We like small sites - avg 100 pitches max, no big entertainment, but a small shop/bar ok and a play area a must - pool a big advantage. Prefer it to be near the sea. - not much to ask I know!

Just wondering if any of you lovely people had any areas to avoid/go to or any words of wisdom - or any hidden campsites I havent found in the 5 hours I have spent looking!!

Thank you
Rachel x

I used to live near llantwit major {st athan} and I think I know the campsite you are talking about....nothing to say for or against it. There's quite a few beaches around, some sand {barry island} some pebbles {porth kerry - also in barry} or further towards bridgend you have ogmore by sea which is lovely, took the dog their sunday for the 1st tiem shse loved it.
