National Insurance

Hi there

Ive been an Ofsted registered childminder since last year mid November - Ive registered myself with HMRC as self employed but have a problem with getting myself sorted with National Insurance as the numbers that Im calling is always busy or I get placed on hold forever. I have a natinal insurance number just need to register & start paying my monthly contribution .... how do I get this done :-(

Please can someone assist me !!!!

I think you will find that they will contact you because of you registering with the HMRC.

... or print this form (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/pdfs/ca5601.pdf) and send it off. Otherwise they may take months to catch up with you, leaving you with a big backlog (not that it is a huge amount of money) but more importantly a potential problem if you want to claim a related benefit.
