Registered - Now what?

Hi,

I'm newly registered and have my first mindee starting next week. I'm just feeling a little daunted about everything I'm supposed to do.

I've written up all my policies and procedures and given the parent I copy of these and asked them to sign a sheet saying they've read and agreed to them. I've sorted the contract too.

I've got a attendance register set up and daily diary. I've bought a scrap book too to start recording development and to help with planning. What is a learning journey though? And what else do I need to record daily/weekly?

Also I have notified environmental health to say I will be a food provider, do I need to notify anyone else that I'm childminding. Do HMRC need to know, do I need to register as self employed?

AS your staring work yes you need to ring hmrc to say your self employed.
Have you got a visitor book? All the best with your first mindee.

thank you - I was thinking I'd record any visitors in a diary that I'll use for childminding purposes - obviously wont have any personal details about kids in there. Do you need to get visitors to sign? I'm guessing so.

Hope that will work, or can you but specific ones?
