I have just finished up my accounts till Dec 2011 and completed the NCMA accounts book, when do we have to file them online with HMRC - is it before 31 Jan 2012?

accounts up to 5th April 2011 to be submitted by 31st Jan 2012
6th April 2011- 5th April 2012 have until 31st Jan 2013;) so your well up-to0date, this time of year gets busy on this part of the forum!

I would lodge it when it is finished and then you know if and what you owe and if not you can breathe a sigh of relief
