Hi,

Just wondering what the norm is for bank holidays, do we charge for these?

I'm taking on a term time only contract (4 days a week) and am unsure as to whether I should be charging for the bank holidays or not, as some will fall within the school holidays. I charge half fee for my hols and full fee for theirs so would I charge the half or full fee too.

Thanks

Tarnia

THanks for that, bit more helpful, although still wondering where I stand for a term time only contract as most of them do fall within school holidays, which I don't get paid for or get retainers/deposits for. Although as someone else said the parents get these paid off from their work and doesn't come out of normal holidays, so it is different in a sense.

Thanks

Hi, I do four days term time only. I charge full rate if the bank hols fall in term time on one of my four working days and just treat it like a normal day ie 50% rate, if it falls in school hols. Works for me! :)

I only charge for bank holidays if its a normal contracted day. So if its a term time only contract and the bank holiday falls in the school holidays then I wouldn't charge for it. Likewise if a child is contracted weds-fri and the bank holiday is a monday then I wouldn't charge for it.
