before and after school fees

I am trying to work out my fees, the going rate in my area is £3.50 per hour, £25 per day £125 per week.

Most charge £4.50 before and after school

this is my fee structure so far

I charge £3.50 per hour for up to 6 hours.

Over 6 hours, the day rate of £25 will apply (up to 10 hours of care)

Weekly full time fee £115


£4.50 per hour outside core hours and weekend care/shift work

I have a before and after school club on my door step they charge £4 from 7.30-9 and £6 from 3.30 -6.30 - which is very cheap, I am not sure if I should charge the same, to make myself competative, or if i should charge like some other minders in my area an hourly rate. I know there are 2 other minders who work at my school, one is my ex minder and she charged me £10 per day from 8-9 and 3.30-5 which works out at £4 per hour - any input appreciated

It depends if you need the work. If you do, then if you can afford to, charge the same as the after school club, if you don't need the work then charge your normal rate.

I charge £4.50hr and have a rule that it has to be a minimum of 1hr before school and a minimum of 2hrs after school.

Thank you toothfairy, i dont want to undercut myself, I will need to work, so i may charge the same and reassess down the line
