hi all

im just starting my risk assessments so that im all prepared for when i get a call about my pre-reg visit.
i used to do these when i worked in the restaurant but not sure how indepth i need to go. do i have to every piece of furniture such as sofas, table and chairs, toys?
was thinking toys should go into catagories such as ages? puzzels? board games?
im really not sure.
please help..:eek:

You will find that there as many different ways of doing risk assessments as there are childminders - and if they work for that childminder then they are fine.

Some like formal sheets with every little thing mentioned seperately and then ticked and signed.

Some do house RA by room
Some have high / low / medium risks

Ans some like me just have generic checklists of things they check and just record what actions they take when a risk is found :D

There are some templates on Bromley childminding website which might start you off. You can adapt them to suit your needs and your setting.
