My dd has food tech homework we have to find 4 different types of pastry which we have Short, Choux, Flaky and Filo
her pastry has 200g pl flour and 150g hard margarine
Now here comes the hard bit we need to know how much it costs per Kilo ?????:idea: :idea: :idea: :rolleyes:
Anyone up for the challenge ?????

the marg is 1.50 per tub stork and flour about 1.00 sorry not very helpful

I think the flour is 66.6 pence per Kilo and surely the Stork is £1.50 or am I barking up the wrong tree :huh:

Not a prob, hope I read question right , does your DD like food tech? It was my favourite subject, but it was called home economics in my day lol . It was my Son fav too he is now a head chef (can you tell Im a very proud Mummy :blush: )

If 1.5 kilo of flour costs £1 then it is 66.6p per kilo , but you are only using 200g so for the pastry the flour costs 13.2 pence.
Margarine is 1.50 per kilo and she uses 150g?
Margarine cost for the pastry is 22.5p
The pastry costs 35.7 pence.
Can do the maths , rubbish at baking! My pastry costs about £1 ready rolled in a packet:o

Lol, mine too - I like cooking but a few things, like pastry, I just can't be bothered with......
