Hi there!

I had a lovely cooking session last week with my daughter (18 mths) a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old. We made some cookies out of a packet, easier than doing it from scratch! The mum loved it! I am now struggling with what it comes under with the EYFS? I'm guessing that the main one is CD and PSED as they all had fun and worked together. I did attempt to show them how to measure the water etc so that's PSRN and also CLL as they don't speak much English, is this right? Hhmm is KUW in there somewhere as well?

What should I put it under first so that I can add photos and other areas of EYFS to it?

Thanks loads, love coming here to read! You all give me such good ideas! Love Claire X x X

good on you. i love baking but actually don't like doing it with my kids, they make such a mess and get in the way!! ah!
I take all my messy craft to my childminder playgroup and leave the mess there!

right, KUW
Exploration and investigation, what does that feel like is it cold hot heavy light
Design and making, cookie cutters or shaping into letters??
Time, cook for how long, did you use a timer or clock, when big hand at..is ready
ICT using electronic scales
Communities, sharing with families at home, gving to neighbours or pre-school teachers to try

I love a challenge on here, it hones my own knowledge x

and PD, steady hands and manipulating objects with care and measured pressure

mmm cookies thats one of our favourites alongside gingerbread men!!!

Baking uses all 6 areas

PSED - Group activity, sharing , taking turns, socialising with adults and peers

CLL - Talking about what they are doing, describing what it looks like/ smells like etc...

Physical - Stirring, pouring, using tools

KUW - what happens when you add this/ where does this come from etc...

PSRN - measuring

Creative - Decorating
