Do we have to issue invoices to parents? All my mindees are friends children, so I have never bothered. Is it something I should be doing or is it not necessary? I do give them all receipts when they pay me.

I don't, in 25yrs have never needed to, parents know what to pay and when, never had a late payer or non payer. I give out receipts to cash payers those that use childcare vouchers (which most of mine use) is done on line, so a record is automatically kept.

Some people do... some don't there are no rules.

So long as you can show your incomings and outgoings properly recorded if the tax office come calling.

However if you have a problem with a parent not paying you your insurance company might ask for copies of invoices, receipts, contracts etc to check you have all the right paperwork in place to make a claim.

Hth :D

No you don't have to give invoices - if you give receipts you've got a record of who has paid what and when.:D
