Thinking of going away for 2 or 3 nights as a break this year in the UK. I have 3 children 16, 13, 11 and has to be quite economical. Can you suggest anywhere and/or anywhere to stay for 5? Don't fancy camping though!

Really value any suggestions.

Park resorts seem to be quite cheap.

Never been there myself but going in 10 days but we are camping :)

How about finding an area with things that your family might be interested in that you can find good deals on - like using Tesco Clubcard Rewards etc and then finding a cheap premier inn or travelodge or something like that as your base?:)

We managed to hunt down a deal at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest for a 3 bed basic cabin for £300 (mon to fri) in September.

Look at Youth Hostels they are economical and you can even get en-suite rooms. Haven't been for a couple of years but we have had some fab holidays with our two. Depends on interests of course, but we have been to several in the Peak and Lake Districts and in the Yorkshire Dales.

what about the YHA hon. they often have family dorms. or try the national trust or similar for a cottage, or barn conversion or sometimes even really kooky places like gatekeepers cottages within castles etc.:)
