if she has got a good teacher, and she gets fitted for them properly and she has strong feet and ankles her feet should be ok and her core strength
she must make the small muscles in her feet work hard

of course - when i got pointes many many (many) moons ago.. there was none of this research, none of this scientific anatomical fitting and yes - my feet aren't the prettiest....

have you come across Lisa Howell The Perfect Pointe - look on google and You tube - she has some fantastic info http://perfectpointe.wordpress.com/about/ and go to her blog website

There was some talk of her moving classes and doing a few more grades this year but if that happens she will go on pointes this year. If they stay the same it wont be till next year because the youngest in the class as to be 11 before they can go on pointes. The teacher did say about bones not being formed etc.

Cherry the lady who runs the shop where we buy all our stuff from is brilliant we were in there for nearly an hour getting dd2's dance shoes cause she wanted to make sure they fitted her feet right and she was only 2 and 1/2 :)

I have gotten into some bad habits over the years and I need to retrain certain muscles in my feet (the tiny metatarsal muscles) and retrain my feet to 'dome'...... this information has been brilliant
