assistants becoming co childminder

if your assistant becomes a co-childminder do they still have to do an introduction to childcare 6 week course although they have being within a setting for longer then 12 months and already registered with ofsted. they also hold a leve 2 & 3 in childcare.

When my husband was my assistant and he decided to register in his own right, he had to do the icp part one and exam as part of the condition of his registration. He was my assistant for around two year prior to registering in his own right.
