Would you wear black to a wedding?

Ive found a gorgeous black dress that i was thinking of wearing in august to a wedding, i was gonna accessorise it with teal shoes, shrug and teal shoes and bag with silver in them and then teal and silver jewellery

I think that's absolutely fine, I wore a black dress with cream accessories to a wedding last year, your teal sounds really nice!

i had a black and white print dress before and my dd is wearing a cream and black one to a november wedding. as long as you put some colour into it I don't see a problem.:thumbsup:

I wore a black and cream dress with pink bits to a wedding, without any problem.

As others have said, as long as you use other colours to break it up a bit, then I don't see a problem.

Teal would be perfect to go with it.

i wore a black dress at the reception at MY wedding!!!

i was 5months pregnant and my wedding dress was tights so i changed into the only dress i had which fitted at the time...my black one.

so the speeches and all i'm intears in a black dress ah ah ah aha ha h

I went to a friend's wedding a few years back wearing a black skirt and jacket, my top was purple. I'm sure from what you've described your outfit will be absolutely fine. Hx

I dont see anything wrong with wearing black to a wedding, as long as you have another colour to go with it.

I think black can be very stylish at a wedding -so long as its not totally black :laughing:

I think it is fine! I think lots of people wear ear black dresses to a wedding, it looks lovely as long as you accessorize like you are going to do x

sounds lovely, mindees mum had a black wedding dress, a proper wedding dress only in black, not my cup of tea, but she looked stunning (thankfully no veil !!)

oh wow! i did consider it, but saw my perfect dress in white! don't think Dh would have been too happy though !!! ;)

i wore black to my BIL wedding, i was 8 1/2mths pregnant and huge! i had a black dress and long black jacket! black hat & shoes as well ... i did have pink flowers on my hat though & a pink button hole !!!!
