Hi

Been told that need to have NVQ LEVEL 3 by next year and funding will run out so this could be my last chance to do it without having to pay myself. Theres a meeting this week and I cannot attend as no one to care for m children but my friend is going to get some info for me. My question is that Ive been told that I will need to attend a class once a month as part of the course. This is going to be virtually impossible. I have no family nearby (at least 3 hours away) and no real friends I would trust to care for my children (only one is a friend who is also going to do the course) has offered for her dh to care for my children but will mean them getting home late on a school night after Ive done my course .

Is it possible for me either to do the whole thing online and have someone visit my house etc or am I well an truly stuffed. DH works away too. his is causing real problems as most courses available are midweek which I cannot attend. Help please anyone....!!1

It can be done as an apprenticeship. Not sure if this company can help you, they are based in Staffordshire, but they come out to you in your setting.

They are called platinum-training and specialise in childcare training.

I don't think you do need it by next year. It was a recommendation by the last Government but it was never actually set in stone so to speak.

Not sure what NVQ you are talking about but I am doing the level 3 diploma in children and young people workforce by distance learning. I don't have to go anywhere, they come to me!

Its kind of hard because you don't have that classroom discussion thing but maybe ideal for you if they also do it for your nvq. I got the info from our local council (I asked my DO who to contact)

I am doing it as an apprentiship through Smart Training. Go to a training one Sat a month and I have had one observation visit by my tutor and will have 3 more over the next 12 months. I also will have 3 or 4 visits more by assessor in that time as well.

Yes sorry it's what's now called diploma !! Chell I think it's if you wanted funding to do by next year or something. T is going on Thursday and getting some info but I'm going to struggle if we have to go out one evening once a month. Especially if late as don't want my lo's at someone's house and not 100% confident leaving them with strangers. Will wait and see info T gets. Struggling with alot of courses now with dh new job !!!!! xx

YMCA training seem the best from what our development worker said and from speaking to various agencies on the phone. They said there are various routes, for me it would be the aprenticeship as I have two level three quals already. Other agencies said they couldn't get finding for me.
