Hi, i am waiting for my certificate but i have been advertising for two months now and not had a single phone call. I have adverts everywhere, i have a website, I'm in yellow pages and have given out leaflets at the preschool. All childminders in my area are full and have been for ages and everyone says what a need there is for childminders in my area. I have a full degree in childcare and have previous experience as a preschool supervisor. So why haven't i got anyone phoning ?? can anyone help.

Sometimes you just have to wait a while, lots of new childminders don't get children straight away. I had to wait nearly 3 months for my first mindee which was frustrating as I am the only one in my village and expected everyone to be knocking my door down.

good luck, it will happen.

Have you tried putting leaflets through peoples doors/ In shop windows.
Facebook too?

I don't really know, how much was it for the yellow pages ad?

If the local childminders are all full have you asked if they are willing to pass on your details to prospective parents?

Are you actually fully registered with Ofsted, or are you still waiting to be signed off?

If you're fully registered, then Ofsted should have sent your details to your local FIS. Any local government department looking for childcare (including job centre, children's centres, NHS etc) will use this to look, regardless of anything else you do.

Have you checked to make sure you're on there?
