CYPOP 5 is a module in the level 3 diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce Development qualification. The CYPOP 5 bit is the module code, the actual module title is 'Introduction to Setting Up a Home Based Childcare Service'.

It is also the course that all newly registering childminders have to do in order to get registered. If you want, you can then go on to do the rest of level 3 qualification.

If your local council is running the course, it should be CYPOP 5. Best thing to do is ask them and find out.

Until recently, there were other courses that you could do for registration, now everyone just has to do CYPOP 5. It's part of the governments efforts to have a better qualified childcare workforce.
