If you have an old piece of wood with smooth edges you could paint it with blackboard paint (from B&Q ect) . Voila ! an instant chalk board.

I have too big ones in my garden an the kids love them , but if you had them free standing you could then take them inside too !

i have recently put a "wanted" on freecycle for large chalk boards to have on my wall and 2 people emailed me with the same advice- I wonder if they were childminders!!!!

I have just brought weatherproof plywood from wickes £5.99, going to pva glue to seal it a bit more, then got blackboard paint from wilko and going to attach it to the fence or the side of the playhouse.

i was thinking bout doing this today when i saw i small chalk board in a shop lol
thinking of quite big on on the fence

I done the same last month paint large piece of wood with blackboard paint and fixed to garden wall, bucket of chalks left out next to it children draw on it every time they go out, great success!
