Hi there,

How many snacks do you provide if you have a child for a full day?

I usually give my full timer breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack. Depends if he is hungry though I will offer fruit throughout the day. I used to have fruit bowl accessible all the time but found little one would constantly want to graze and this caused the runs

I offer 2 snacks - morning about 1030 and afternoon after school.

Morning snack is usually a piece of fruit and breadsticks...

Afternoon is something carbohydrate because the after schoolers need a lift so toast, crumpets etc.

Morning snack at 10ish is fruit.
Afternoon snack at 3.30ish is fruit plus something else, as it can be up to 6 hours between lunch and evening meal for some children. The something else might be:
sliced maltloaf
homemade cake/buns/biscuits
crackers and cheese
ham/cheese/jam butties
toast
toasted crumpets/muffins/teacake etc

We do 10am along with a story and songs/action rhymes.

12.00 is lunch time (bring own lunch boxes)

2.30 another small snack

We don't have any after schoolies at the mo and the ones that stay for tea eat that at 4.30 (bring own).

I usually offer 2 snacks - mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

I used to provide a plate of fruit when they came in from school but now I just give tea earlier and they have fruit with that.

What time do you do tea? I have struggled to find a good time for afternoon snack without it spoiling tea which we eat at 5!

We have morning snack around 10.00am/10.15am, lunch around 12.00 noon and because my school pick up is at 3.30pm, afternoon snack is around 2.30/2.45pm before we have to leave. We get back about 3.50pm and I ask my after schooler if he would like some fruit but he usually doesn't and can manage until 4.30pm when him and my full time children have their tea. (They have to have it at this time because the full timers leave at 5.15pm).
