Where to make a web site?

Hi everyone,
can anyone recommed where i can build my own website. Well i say build i mean create and decorate one for my childminding business.

I've had a look on sites but some are charging in excess of £100 for them to build one for me. Is this how it works? I dont really want to pay a lot of money for one but at the same time i'd need some help about how to set it up edit it etc.

If anyone could point me in the right direction i would be eternally greatful.

I used Mr Site but I find the site is very slow to load. It wasn't diffcult to set up but I find it a pain to log into and also slow to update.

I've just started blogging using Blogger. I'm thinking I might eventually transfer my website address over to that. At the moment the address of the page is myname.blogspot.com

I use this too, its free and really easy to use

You can do things like buy the domain name when you're more confident but even that is easy to do.

I use webs too and have been impressed I did have a gbbo site but it never used to show up on search engines where my webs.com one does.

fantastic! i sent pauline the information and she created a super website, easy to update as pauline does it! all i do is send an email!
