I am soooooo excited!!!!!!

I have just got off the phone to Ofsted and they said they had sent my certificate out 2 days ago!!! Whooopppppeeeeeee!!!!

If you remember, I was waiting for my social services check, well, I phoned social services on tuesday and gave them a big old ear bashing and warned them i would be making a formal complaint! I guess it worked!!

I am jumping for joy at the moment!!:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :jump for joy:

Depends how you look at it, I went on my Pre-reg A (info meeting) meeting in September, so that would be nearly 8 months.

But from sending off my application, which was in December, that would make it 5 months.

I had my pre-reg meeting early feb last year and sent my application in mid feb. Was the 27th of August before I got my certificate. There was a hold up at just about every stage, I so very nearly gave up!

So glad I didn't though as I love it! Specially times like now where DS is playing with a pixel chix and 18month mindee is sleeping!

It is a long time isn't it, and my registration sounds like yours - at every stage there was a hurdle. Thay make it very very difficult ot become a childminder, but I am so looking forward to it!:clapping:

Congratulations!

Is that the average amount of time it takes or was this a unique situation? I haven't sent paperwork off yet (First Aid & ICP starts next week) but was hoping to start childminding from new school year in September. Is that a joke? My maternity pay finishes mid-July so I don't want to go too long without earning anything.

Hi Cazz! I would suggest you send off your application as soon as possible as I had so many hurdles, Ofsted took 4 weeks to come out to do my pre reg, then my crb took 8 weeks (some can take as long or longer than 12 weeks!!) plus my social services check was stuck in a backlog and took from January till now to sort, with constant chasing.
I would say that my situation in not the norm, but send your application off soon, just in case. Good luck babe!
