Just starting out...

Hi all

I am just starting out on the road to childminding :) I am booked onto a local course (Key Steps to Quality). I assume once this course is completed I can then apply to OFSTED for registration. How long do you think this will take? What usually happens? I would like to be up and running by September but am unsure if this is do-able? I have a million and one questions but I guess I will find alot of answers on my course too :laughing:

hello and welcome,
first of all i assume the key steps is your areas pre reg course?(this will include your safeguarding training, and how to prepare fo things from policies to business plans)
you will need your paediatric first aid course

you can apply to ofsted as long as you are booked on the first aid and complete the pre reg course within 6 months of first application to ofsted.

Yes, I think it is the pre-reg course. Its 3hrs a week for 8wks. I start 5th May. I have so many idea's floating round in my head already lol

I think I will be on here everyday looking for advice and idea's :)
