Hi Everyone!

Feel like im on here everyday looking for answers!

Im due to start minding my first child next week cant believe its finally happening! Anyway, I will be looking after a 9 year old full time in the school holidays and have a 8 year old myself. Just had an enquiry regarding 2 more 8 year olds just for school hols.

Just wondered how many over 8s you can mind. I currently dont have mindees in the day just my own 21 month old x

Over 8's is as many as you like within the perameters of your insurance. I think its 11 children in total (someone hopefully will confirm) as long as it doesnt impact on your children who are in the EYFS.

Most insurers state ten children max but check with yours. Also the care of the over 8's should not effect the care of the children under 8, which I am sure no decent childminder would let happen. Check with your insurers and they should be able to verify it.

you can have your 6 under 8's

and I think MM is up to 11 children total and NCMA is 12

so that would be:
MM 5 over 8's
NCMA 6 over 8's

do your own children count eg MM allow 11 but i have 3 children so is it my 3 plus 8 more?
