Hi all, me again!

Starting 2 new mindees next week, one part time as at nursery and one just after school, school pick up at 3.10 home by 3.40, picked up by mum by half 4ish, am wondering how much obs and planning I need to do for the older child when they are here for less than an hour each night?

What do you all do for short stay after schoolies?

Also, how long do you tend to leave LO's to settle in before planning etc?

Thanks all xx

I would write them both a routine showing what they do while they are with you linked to the Eyfs.

Then involve them in your group planning after a quick snack so that they get the opportunity to explore festivals, celebrations and other parts of your group activities.

you can use the group planning, changed to the children's interests, as evidence in their learning journeys.

I know it sounds daft but even for less than an hour Ofsted will want to see evidence of you sharing with the other setting.

However you can only do so much and their LJs will be thinner than other children's to reflect the shorter time they are with you.

hth :D
