With units 2 to 5 for the Diploma in Homebased Childcare, are you able to do them in any order as my question is, obviously having done Unit 1, what would be the recommended next unit to study for?
Because I can't get to college of an evening, thankfully I can now do the Distance Learning having originally been told no.
Also, how hard is it and what exactly do you have to do? Is it hours pouring over text books?
Haven't studied for best part of 20 years and was rubbish at it back then so do feel a bit scared about doing this!!
Thanks

It's not too bad..I think unit 3 is recommended first, but may be wrong! I would save 5 til last!!!

we have done them as a group in order but that was how the tutor decided to do it as we were all planning on doing all 5 anyway x

units 5 and 2 are the harder of the lot.

The whole course wasn't too bad - again I was in a group with a tutor. Its definately worth doing - great prelude to the NVQ 3 CCLD.

good luck

My unit 1 tutor recommended starting with unit 3 if I went on to the next parts - I don't know why though!

we havent had our marks back yet from unit 2 and unit 3 has to be handed in after christmas.... we have had no feedback or grades back yet from unit 2 , they are with the internal moderator at college.

Will let you know as soon as we get them back xxx

Hi

I am doing this through the nec and they recommended to do units 3,4,2 and 5. In that order if you see what I mean.

I am on unit 2 at the moment and finding it harder than the others so far its longer too with more info to get into the brain.

I have been told unit 5 is the hardest so maybe thats why its left til last :)

Let us know how you get on

Do you have to pay for the other units as unit 1 was free in my area.

hello, i did this course with the NEC, and found it lonely at times. its best to do it with a tutor and at least you can bounce ideas of others in the group. I believe you need to do 3 next. Definately leave 5 to the end - its quite hard!
