Can I ask? When you update your 1st aid training, do they 'test' you straight away? I mean is it like and exam so they can see what you know without going through it?
Or do they just teach it anyway?

Just want to know if I need to do a lot of swotting again
My kids go to St John's Ambulance club and I've been their guinea pig doing the recovery position.
But I suppose once I get into it again it will all come flooding back :)

You go through the whole course again. They need to see you can do CPR before they will pass you but there are no re cap tests as such

we had a simple multi choice at the end - 10 questions with mostly obvious answers from what was talked about/practised and we all did the CPR in groups of 3 taking turns while trainer walked about watching us.

Each time has been a little different - this time (Feb) we did quite a lot of practice with bandages/slings - after trainer has shown us on a volunteer!

all of us were renewing - we get a group together every 3 years.

We are doing that, all CMs at one of their houses. Should be fun :)
