we are just replaceing some fence pannels in the garden as they had become un safe due to winds etc can i put this on my accounts book for my taxes

If it is to keep the children safe then yes, I would say you can.

I you were not minding you might leave it for a while, so therefore you are doing it now because you are minding and it goes on expenses.

If you see what I mean :)

I am putting the fencing down on mine that i had to buy for my old house but i wouldnt have had that fencing if i wasnt planning on minding. So i would say yes

if i wasnt minding then i wouldnt have replaced it as we would have just propped it up sort of but i am due a inspection in may time so thought we had better do it

I have in the past when winds took my fence down.

After all it is a requirement to keep the children safe!

I went to see a tax inspector today, and she said you cannot claim for fences in the garden, unless you can prove it was for safety. She said you would put a fence up if it fell down regardless of minding.
