Thats rubbish isn't it? Shouldn't have left it so late- considering i had done my accounts way back in July. I had a complication from my redunancy payout so i just kept putting it off.

Just done mine yesterday, only from Sept 09 until April 10, and at least that tax bill was less than £200:clapping:
At least I know what to do now. Could not work out how to pay it though.
Do they send a bill in the post?

I am always gobsmacked every year to find out that so many people leave their tax until the last minute. Even if it is less than £200 I wouldn't want that bill to have to be paid unexpectedly. Please please please will everyone take note and get your accounts done earlier - its so much better for you - less stress and chance to plan for payment.

They only sent me the tax form (paper) on the 04th Jan as they messed it up earlier in the year, so they are giving me a couple of months (I hope  )
Tried to do it online but they said the 10 digit number had to have a K at the end, nothing like that on my paperwork :panic:

The number you are quoting is your URN number and that is needed to generate a number to be used to log in and submit your return

Give them a call or you will get th £100 fine after today

You can pay it online by debit or credit card, by BACS or over the phone

If you were only asked to fill in a tax return on the 4 January then you normally have three months from the date of request.

I did my return ages ago, but decided to wait till the last minute to pay it - saturday - only to find that after I had paid it direct from my bank it says to allow 3 WORKING days for it to get into the recipients account :panic: - hoping I don't get a fine

This year I will pay as soon as i can

I used to leave my money in the bank for as long as possible to gain interest  , but being interest is pants now  I paid mine as soon as my bill came in.
