Hi all,

I am asking on behalf of a friend, does anyone know what qualification you need to start childminding now?

I did my ICP (unit one of the diploma) last January but she has now been told it is a 3 month course before she can register with Ofsted which means she wont be registered in time to work during the school summer holidays...

Are you still able to do Unit 1? If possible it would be better to do distance learning and get it done asap so she can start asap...

Anyone know what the latest is?

Thanks

Laura

ICP has been replaced by CYPOPs 5.

You need that and first aid as your 'qualifications' to reg'g.

Ok thanks, do you know if you can apply to Ofsted before you have these or whether you need to have these qualifications already in place?

From what I can remember as long as you have them booked ready to do or are currently doing them you can apply? Thinking about how long it takes crb to come back she would have everything done by then...

hiya.

You need your first aid done before your pre reg visit and then ofsted require you to have done the icp within 6mths of registration.
