I survived my pre-reg inspection this morning :clapping: Oh the relief!

Inspector was really nice, but blimey she knew her stuff (I know, thats her job, hehe) Not a stone was left unturned!

She went through each of the standards, with lots of questions like 'what would you do if....'
Was REALLY glad I had put so much work into my policies, as not only was the inspector really impressed but it took a lot of the pressure off as I could direct her to the relevant one so she knew I'd thought about things (with the help of this forum and the Bromley site, lol)

She looked all around my house and garden with real attention to detail, i.e locks, socket covers, blind cords, nappy changing gloves, paper towels in bathroom etc.

Sooo, just want to say again...a MASSIVE thank you to all of you that have helped me on here - the support and question answering has been brilliant.
Who needs an ICP course when we have this site, huh? :D

Re how long ... she said 4-6 weeks but depending on police checks. Having read lots of posts on this site I'm not holding my breath though!!

:) Well done Helen!!! I'm glad it wasn't that bad then...makes me feel abit better about mine. I better keep reading through those standards though...glad i've done all the policies. It's just not having all the toys and equipment that bothers me but i know people on here have said you don't need to have it all for the pre-reg... i'd just like to have it all!!!!!!!!!!!!! How much stuff have you already got? Did the inspector comment?

Thanks for the messages everyone - i've never been part of a forum before and am amazed at the support!

Hi Kelly...re equipment, I really only have my sons toys (he's 15 months) and a few puzzles and games and a toy farm that I picked up at the car boot. We already have high chair, potty, pushchair etc, but apart from that...not loads!

I mentioned that my local childminders drop-in centre has a toy library that I intend to use a lot (especially for multicultural toys), also that I plan to get books from the library (20 at a time on my son's card), and that I wanted to wait to find out what my mindees like (linking this to equal opportunities, (i.e individualism!) and what ages/ development stages they are...so Care, Learning and Play (choice), as well as Organisation!

Lol, can you tell I'm all standard-ed out?! :o

I wrote a wish list of things that I'd like to get too. which the inspector had a look at. Just general stuff, like a slide, dressing up clothes, sand pit, paints and art materials, sing-a-long cd's etc.

Hope that helps a bit x

:) Thanks for the reply, Helen:)
That helps loads...i won't stress about not having all the toys and eqipment then!!! I am however stressing that i haven't got my house all child proof yet and it's now 4 days away!!! Can't do anything on sunday as it's my little boys christening. He's 10 months and crawling so we have some things covered. Although i have a shed standing up against my hedge which i am ordering my bloke and father in law to be to get up on saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly:)
