yes, thats what I know it as, and boxing day is not unitl Tomorrow either this year;)

I have the same understanding as your hubs - the opening of the poor boxes to share with the poor. It was also traditionally a day of for the servants and they would be given a christmas box by their employers.

I think this is the real reason.
To me Boxing day means left overs um um :D
