I am trying to write my policies ect. but am not sure how to place commas:blush: . The way I have learnt it (the danish way) is very different. So if someone would kindly give me a quick course then I would be very grateful:) !

Hello Trine,
As my spelling, grammer etc terrible I am not much help. I tend to use the 'if you pause when reading back there should be a comma'
I am sure someone will be along soon who can tell you how to use a comma - and I shall be looking to see what the answer is!

I do the same Penny, read it aloud and if I pause for a breath then I put in a comma.

Thank you Christine - now I understand why I never got the hang of it (was at school mid 60 - mid 70's at a time when spelling , grammer etc where not pushed to allow 'free expression') - so never did learn all these rules around the english language.
After Christmas I shall try to get my head round the use of commas

If you add a comma where you pause, as suggested, then type it into your word processor programme like word, it will let you know whether you have made a mistake by underlining in red or green - depending on error - and then offer you a suggestion. In other words - CHEAT :D
(don't look at the above sentence for suggestions lol, it is too long and has too many commas and dashes :) )
