Help please.

I have bought a gammon joint (boneless) and a Honey & whiskey glaze from Waitrose.
I have looked online for recipies but they all say different things.
Some say to soak for 3hrs, then boil, then roast & some say just boil & roast???

Does anyone have a simple recipie I could use please???

I would slowly roast it in the oven, take it out, remove the fat, score the top so you get diagonals and then put the glaze on and roast for another 30mins

How long do you boil for and how long do you roast for?

Usually it depends on size doesn't it say on the wrapper

I do the same as DebbieS26 and always turns out nice, :)

I think it depends on the quality of the meat as to whether you have to soak it or not. I will cook mine in a saucepan with cider (20 mins per lb + an extra 20 mins) then roast for half an hour.

if you don't boil it then roast it will be really salty you will not be able to eat it

:clapping: :clapping: happy cooking

This is what I would do. I always roast my Gammon. Roast for about 1.5 - 2 hours. You'll know when it's cooked x

im thinking i may sound daft, but seriously 'a can of coke' - how come?
Im guessing it one of the mysteriously very good cooking tricks.

I think the problem is that whether you need to soak it or boil it depends how salty the gammon is to start with. I would say if in doubt, do soak and boil. I always soak overnight, then cook in cider, like Manjay, then remove the skin and score before roasting with honey, mustard and orange slices.

I always boil mine and then roast it in oven

1 is normally covered in black treacle and 1 is covered in cloves and honey, both are lovely

This year though I am trying the coke instead of the treacle one
