Hi there!

I am just starting in childminding and wanting to put together a folder to let people know about my service! Am just so stuck with putting together some notes about the EYFS? I started by just putting the themes down and the principles, but then got so confused when I noticed that the commitments show the learning journey? I need to promote this as this is what I want them to take an interest in so that they know why I am doing one for their child and asking for permission to take photos etc? It is just so confusing though if I put all of those in as well!

Please can you help in saying what you put into a parents pack?

Many thanks, Claire X x X

I found an advice sheet for parents on the NCMA website. Not quite sure where it is, but I will try and look later.

I've never done a parents pack - why don't you just direct them to the EYFS website and let them look at everything themselves. All my parents aren't bothered about it anyway.

i think this would confuse them and then they certainly wouldn't be interested! the link above is nice and simple and explains the basics :D

Thanks for the link...going to be adding that to my parent packs now I think! Explains it far better than I have!

Just spotted this thread, and as a result of OU study... found this brilliant resource (great, as it lists ideas for parents to do at home):
http://www.tes.co.uk/ResourceDetail.aspx?storyCode=3014197

You need to register with TES, but it's free & they only send emailing (which is not too annoying)

I created a new front page, and put sticky labels over anything that didn't apply.... all linked back to original resource.

As I also tutor I have several EYFS packs so offered to lend them to any parents who were interested. I include this offer on every other newsletter so no chance of not seeing it.

NOBODY has even asked about it yet:(

Parents either trust me:laughing:  or can't be bothered:(
