my first reaction - LOL. I cannot see that working in my household - first of all the older kids would see it as a wonderful opportunity to spin-fly things probably baby included.

I always think babies are left in an upright position way to much (as opposed to on their backs) - they are 'sat up' in a bouncy chair, car seat, highchairs, strange looking buggies/prams - actually I think some babies are never taken out of their travel system.

Its good for babies to be on their backs though - they develop strong muscles, learn to control their limbs etc. Its also good for them to be on their tummies too - encourages other muscles, head control etc as we all know.

My verdict on that..... WHY (bother)?. You can place a baby on their tummy and put things near/round them that they have to learn to move their own bodies to get to. Move their own bodies and encourage autonomous movement. Whats wrong with doing it as parents for centuries have done - put a blanket down and put baby on their tummy/back, prop them up between your legs or with cushions etc.

sorry just my opinion
