Is it actually the New years day that is bank holiday and not New years eve?

I never work it but my daughters do they do not get paid extra for new years eve but they do for new years day

Do you mean New Years Eve or New Years Day that the parent needs you ?

It's just a normal day, same as Christmas eve, I choose not to work it and take it as holidays.
