help needed asap please

hi everyone,as some of you know ive had a bit of trouble with one of the parents who didnt pay me on time,well now they have decided to end their contract with me they didnt tell me face to face just sent a letter,they sent the letter yesterday 15/12/07 and they said the daughter is going to a new school on the 7th january the thing is her dad is a teacher so she will be leaving me on the 20th of this month because thats when he breaks up, so no matter what they havent gave me 4 weeks notice,does that mean they still have to pay me a months wage as i dont really understand it,

I have just been given 6wks notice and won't be having the child because of changing schools, I am still getting paid for the six weeks (not including christmas week) he actually leaves me on the 20th but I get paid up to mid Jan. Of course if they want to use you within that notice period you should be available. If you have in your contract 4wks notice, then that is what you are owed weather she comes to you for the next 4 wks or not.

i agree with Voni, if your contracts say 4 weeks thats what they should give, or at least you should get four week fees from them.

Yep if in contract 4 weeks notice then 4 weeks to be paid wether used or not! Just because xmas falls in the middle that's not your issue!

So you will need 4 weeks payment as within your contract.
Give them a letter stating this too!!
