I have been asked mind a friends 2 children for the following hours,

Weds 5-10pm
Fri 5-10pm
Sun 7am-1pm

I dont have a clue what kind of prices to charge. Can anyone help me and will tax credits pay if I bump up my prices because its only for 3 days

I charge 1.5 of my regular hourly fee for unsociable hours (for me it's before 8 am and after 6pm). What you charge it's up to you but make sure you don't undercharge as a 10pm collection will have a massive impact on your family life. Tax credits will help the parent with the childcare cost so don't worry about charging a little bit more.

Oh an also Sunday should be upped as it's not a usual working day and most childminders would not take the child on. I think parents will be just so happy you said yes ....

I charge £5 an hour after 5 until 7 and after that its £6 per hour

Saturdays and Sundays ..............well i wouldnt work :laughing:

If i did id charge double my hourly rate which is £8 per hour

Before 8 and after 6 i charge double time ditto for the Saturday.

Sunday would be at least double time with maybe an extra charge - say £20 .

But i would not regularly work at weekends just occassionally if totally necessary.

I look after 2 siblings 3.15pm until 10pm, 1 sometimes 2 days a week and I charge double after 6pm until 10pm. Definitely make it worth your while.

i have never work evenings but used to charge £7 per hour for each child on a saturday
