Hi
I am looking at becoming a childminder and I was wondered if you have to have any child care qualifications?
Also I am trying to work out what monthly pay I would be earning. Could anyone help with this?

Hi,
I went into childminding with no formal qualifications, although some experience as I have my own dd. But I have always wanted to work in childcare but was only possible 2 years ago. I am currently doing my nvq level3 in childcare, learning and development and will be starting the foundation degree in early years in october, both funded. As to income, this really depends on the number of children you get registered for, ofsted will decide this based on the size of property and whether you have children of your own under the age of 8. Also depends on the rate that you charge, you could check the childcare link website to see what other minders in your ares charge. Good luck!
