Where do I start????!!!!

Hi all !!

I have decided after alot of thought that I would like to be a child minder. But havn't got a clue where to start. :panic:

Can anyone please help, I live in Wales.

If you contact your local Family Information Service they will be able to tell you when the next CSSIW breifing session is. WHere abouts in Wales are you? I am in Carmarthenshire.

Call your local FIS on 0800 2346 346 and ask to be booked onto a briefing session - after that should you wish to continue you then go onto a DHC-1 (or ICP) course.

all the paperwork is usually given out at the course to start your application to OfSTED to become a registered Childminder - this can also now be done online https://online.ofsted.gov.uk/OnlineOfsted/Default.aspx

but you really need to do the course first.

I think Kentfis thought you were in England! It's CSSIW you need to contact as you are a Welsh childminder.

Hi!

yep contact your local CSSIW office & ask when the next briefing session is, u need to attend this before you can go on the ICP course. Complete the course & the exam and then you're ready to fill in the application form & become registered! Good luck!
